BLUEPRINTS for a £500,000 town centre improvement scheme in Rugeley will be unveiled to residents next week.
The plans - which local people contributed to and will see work to the gateway from the station and upgrades to Horse Fair and Wharf Road - will go on display to the public at Rugeley Youth Centre in Burnthill Lane between 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Wednesday.
Staffordshire County Council’s cabinet member for economy and infrastructure Mark Winnington thanked residents for their contributions to the plans through the public consultation which he said had been incorporated where possible.
"The aim of the scheme is to create a space which is workable, functional and distinctive and will draw people into the area," he said. “Design experts have done extensive modelling to make sure the ideas put forward will really improve feeling of the area and create an attractive space for businesses, pedestrians and motorists.”
Mr Winnington said he hoped as many people as possible would attend to see the plans which will include a simulation of the area when the upgrade is complete that would be published on at www.staffordshire.gov.uk after the meeting.
