A POPULAR charity beer festival is facing last orders if it can’t find a new patron in the next week.
Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is appealing to local businesses to step up and sponsor its annual Wolseley Centre Food and Beer Festival with around £2,500 needed to cover rising organisational costs.
Alison Rhodes, visitor centre manager at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust said: "It will be a real shame for the Trust to lose its biggest fundraiser of the year.
“The event is so dependent on the weather, and with the rising infrastructure costs and profits marginal, it is a risk we cannot afford to take.
“As well as finding a sponsor, we're appealing for people power on the day, and would like to hear from groups of people and companies who can release staff on volunteer days."
The trust has until February 14 to find a sponsor or cancel the festival, which last year saw 2,000 visitors, for the first time in a decade.
