A FLIPPING good deed by some neighbourly Baswich folk yesterday saw pancakes delivered to some of the area’s older residents.

Residents of St Austell’s Close were delighted to receive the treats, prepared by members of Holy Trinity Church and delivered by future members of the Good Neighbour Scheme, to promote awareness of the initiative being set up in Baswich and celebrate Shrove Tuesday.

The scheme will offer a helping hand to elderly residents in the area and aims to improve health and community wellbeing to those who may need additional support to continue living independently.

A meeting on Tuesday, March 5 at 7pm at Leasowe’s School, Porlock Avenue will outline the aims of the Good Neighbourhood Scheme, what help is needed to set it up and how people can get involved and shape the development of the scheme to meet their community needs.
