Blaze at Penkridge high school believed to be arson

ARSONISTS may be responsible for a blaze which started in the toilets at a Penkridge high school this afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to the fire in the ground floor toilets at Wolgarston High School this afternoon.

A spokesman for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said: “One crew from Cannock and one from Penkridge have attended a fire in the ground floor toilets at Wolgarston High School, Cannock Road, Penkridge.

“Firefighters arrived on the scene at 3.20pm and used for BA and one HRJ to put the blaze out.

“It is believed that the fire was due to deliberate ignition.

“Crews returned to their stations at 4.11pm.”
