Why not enter your garden for a chance to win some great prizes

Fancy celebrating your blooming marvellous garden? Now’s your chance with The Newsletter’s Blooming Local garden competition, in partnership with the Stafford and Stone branch of Age UK , which will showcase the beautiful gardens around the area.

We hope to inspire readers in their efforts to grow colourful and attractive gardens throughout Stafford, Stone and the surrounding villages

There are two competition categories and readers can only submit one entry per category.

The categories are:

Best Residential Garden, which can be any front or back garden, patio display (paved outdoor area) or courtyard display (enclosed walled garden).

Best Community Garden, which is open to community groups which have improved the overall appearance of their neighbourhood or street and involved local people in caring for where they live.

To enter, send a photograph of your garden, ensuring that the category entered is clearly identified along with your name, address and phone number to: Staffordshire Newsletter The Mills, Mills bank, Stafford ST16 2QZ

Or send your entry via email to kate.jeffs@staffordshirenewspapers.co.uk attaching your photo in JPG format (max file size 5MB) along with your name, address, contact number and chosen category.

You can also upload your photo onto our Facebook page and share your photo on the AGE UK Stafford and district Facebook page.

The closing date for entries is Friday, July 11 2014.

All photographs will appear in the Staffordshire Newsletter on Thursday, July 24 2014 and will be showcased on our online galleries.

Readers will be asked to vote for their favourite garden through our website until August 7 2014.

The garden with the most online votes in each category; will be the outright winner and will receive a plaque and the prestigious title of Staffordshire Newsletter Best Garden 2014.
