STAFFORD Rangers suffered their first away defeat of the season when going down 2-1 at basement side Frickley Athletic on Saturday.
It was a great disappointment for Boro boss Greg Clowes, who had seen his side take a 23rd minute lead with a header from striker Danny Quinn.
However, Frickley got back on level terms just before the interval when Luke Hinsley netted.
Nine minutes into the second period and Frickley shocked Rangers by taking the lead with a good effort from Gavin Allott - and that proved the winner!
Rangers will now need to pick themselves up for Tuesday's (7.45pm) visit of another lowly placed outfit, Ilkeston FC, who have not picked up a single point in four away games so far this season.
It is the first of two successive home matches for Rangers in the space of a few days, with new leaders North Ferriby United at Marston Road on Saturday (3pm).
