STAFFORD has been catapulted forward on the internet super-highway with news that a broadband provider is doubling speeds to customers in the town for free.
Virgin Media announced Stafford as the latest location where its customers would benefit from some of the fastest internet speeds in the country as part of a nationwide initiative that will see the media giant increase the connections of over four million cable customers.
Jon James, executive director of broadband at Virgin Media said: “Virgin Media has driven the development of faster broadband in the UK and we’re delighted to be boosting our customers’ speeds in Stafford once again.
“Following our Double Speeds programme, all our customers will be superfast as standard and ready to make the most of all the incredible digital entertainment services that exist now and will in the future,” he said.
In addition, Virgin Media is boosting its top speed to 120MB allowing users, for example, to download an entire music album in as little as 4.4 seconds and a High Definition movie in around 5 minutes.
Customers can check to see when their speeds will be doubled through the Bolt-o-meter at www.virginmedia.com/doublespeed.
