ADMINISTRATORS running Stafford Hospital have stressed it is 'business as usual' following the decision by healthcare regulator Monitor to delay publication of the final report on reconfiguring local services.
Monitor announced yesterday it had failed to secure an agreement over future funding arrangements for healthcare services in Mid Staffordshire and would need an additional 40 days to do answer the question of who would pay for what under the proposals put forward by the trust special administrators.
Joint administrator Alan Bloom said: "We understand this news may cause some uncertainty among staff, patients and the public and therefore wish to make clear [Mid Staffordshire NHS Foundation Trust] will carry on in the same way that it has since we were appointed.
"We will continue to work with all parties involved in the process."
He said the administrators had completed their final report over the future of services provided by Mid Staffs following 'careful consideration of the responses to the public consultation'.
