A MAN linked to three separate thefts on late night train rides between Manchester and Stafford is being hunted by transport police.

A CCTV image has been released of the man, who alighted at Stafford Station on three occasions - November 29, December 19 and December 13 - after passengers had items taken from their luggage.

PC Peter Mannington, based at BTP Wolverhampton and leading the investigation, said: “On three separate occasions towards the end of 2013, the same man is believed to have removed passengers’ luggage from late-night services from Manchester Piccadilly.

“On each occasion, the man has left the trains at Stafford rail station and made off on foot.”
