A MAN linked to three separate thefts on late night train rides between Manchester and Stafford is being hunted by transport police.
A CCTV image has been released of the man, who alighted at Stafford Station on three occasions - November 29, December 19 and December 13 - after passengers had items taken from their luggage.
PC Peter Mannington, based at BTP Wolverhampton and leading the investigation, said: “On three separate occasions towards the end of 2013, the same man is believed to have removed passengers’ luggage from late-night services from Manchester Piccadilly.
“On each occasion, the man has left the trains at Stafford rail station and made off on foot.”
He said extensive enquiries had taken place to trace the man responsible but with no success and officers were now appealing to the public to help identify the man in the photograph, as it is believed he has information which can assist police.
