THREE men who stole a pick up truck to burgle an agricultural dealership are being hunted by police.

The thieves stole a white Ford Ranger, registration CX07 WCL, from Lowdham Road, Gunthorpe during the early hours of Saturday Dec 14 into Sunday Dec 15.

The vehicle was then used to break into the Farmstar depot in Hawton Lane, Newark around 7pm on Sunday 15 December, where the suspects were captured on CCTV.

The stolen pick up was driven at shutters, forcing entry, and allowing the offenders inside where they stile agricultural equipment worth around £4000, including chainsaws and hedge trimmers, before driving away towards Bowbridge Road.

Around 8.50pm the same vehicle was used at a break-in at Uttoxeter Garden Machinery, in Uttoxeter, where it left the scene alongside a dark-coloured Porsche, before hitting a lamppost in Hilton, Derbyshire.

The suspects then abandoned the pick up truck and drove away in the Porsche.

A police spokesperson said: “We know that at least ten vehicles drove by Farmstar as the burglary was happening, and while a small amount of these people have contacted us, there are others who we would urge to get in touch.”

Anyone who recognises the men in the CCTV or has any information about those responsible is asked to call 101 and ask for Nottinghamshire Police, quoting incident 756 of 15 December or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
