Captain Helen is star of show at Stone golf club

WENDY Warburton enjoyed her year as lady captain at Stone Golf Club, picking up the Medal Winner's trophy in the process.

The club's annual presentation dinner took place saw numerous pieces of silverware presented and experiencing a memorable year was Helen Wass.

She went home with the Bradley Cup, Club championship trophy, ARC Shield, the Birdie Tree and Eclectic competition (Div 1).

Di Gillen won the Ladies Foursomes, with partner Sue Hamilton, and the Best Gross Score cup, on count back from Wass.

The Joyce Hall Trophy and BSM Salver were both won by Liz Weaver, while Nan Heard picked up the Hilary Gordon Cups with her partner Averil Tunnicliffe and the Adams Trophy.

Barbara Anderson won the Stableford Cup and the Past Captain's Salver and Sue Chaplain won the Ladies Cup and the Centenary Salver. Helen York won the Jubilee Bowl.

Other winners were: Joan Hammett (Eclectic Div 2) Pauline Loader EWGA Medal.

The club guest on the evening was Diane Bradley whose family has a long standing connection to Stone Golf Club and donated the Bradley Cup.

Warburton thanked the ground staff for their excellent work in keeping the course in such good condition rduring the season.
