A PENKRIDGE golfing duo are just one step away from a dream six-night, four-star, expenses-paid trip to the Algarve, where they will compete for a prestigious national amateur title.
Richard Knott and Tony Anderton, from The Chase Golf Health Club and Spa, compete in the regional final of the HowDidiDo National Matchplay Championship at the Macdonald Botley Park Hotel Golf and Spa, Southampton, on Tuesday, with the goal of qualifying for the grand final in the Algarve in February.
Should they qualify, they would enjoy complimentary return flights to Faro, six-nights’ accommodation at the stunning, four- star Monte da Quinta Club, on the Quinta do Lago estate.
They will also receive five days’ golf on the renowned South and Laranjal courses, with the prestigious HowDidiDo National Matchplay title up for grabs.
Four competitions culminate at the grand final, sponsored this year by both Monte da Quinta Club and Quinta do Lago.
There will be singles, pairs, mixed pairs and senior pairs, with a total of 32 golfers, from across the UK, fighting it out for the titles.
Each pair will have played up to four qualifying rounds merely to reach the regional final, with the knockout rounds taking place between June and September, and the regional finals in October.
