THE West Midlands orienteering league resumed with event six at Chasewater Country Park, hosted by local club Walton Chasers.
Fast, accurate speed and navigation were the deciding factors on the day and there were many great performances from host club members.
These included Stephen Palmer, second on the brown course, with Matt Mardling 7th. The green course saw James Bennett take top honours, ahead of Kelvin Dawson 2nd and Gemma Cairns-Smith 9th.
Over the short, green circuit, Hazel Waters took second spot, with Norman Hall 6th. Stuart Walton was first on the light green course, while Marlene Palmer took sixth place.
A group of Chasers filled the leading places on the orange course, with Joe Holland 4th, Sally Hughes 5th, Holly Hughes 6th, Adam Mardling 7th and Charlotte Cairns-Smith 8th.
Another winner, on the yellow course, was Liz Holland, followed by Charlie Room 5th, George Hughes 6th, June Cairns- Smith 7th and Lucy Walton 10th.
Finally, Oscar and Euan Barnby took the top two honours respectively on the white course, with Fraser Stamp in fourth spot. Weekly training for the Chasers is on Tuesdays, 7pm at Walton High School gym. See www.walton-chasers.co.uk for details.
