Cheese and ale will be a boost for businesses

BUSINESSES wanting to take a stand at Stafford’s first cheese and ale festival are being urged to get in quick.

A handful of stands now remain for exhibitors for the town centre event on May 17.

Visitors can sample food and drink from around 16 producers and suppliers from in and around Staffordshire.

It is a joint initiative by Stafford Borough Council and the Town Centre Partnership (TCP) and will include a wide range of cheese and ales to taste, along with demonstrations.

The festival is sponsored by Taste of Staffordshire and if successful organisers hope it will become a permanent fixture on the town event’s calendar.

Councillor Frances Beatty, cabinet member for planning and regeneration at the borough council, said it was a showpiece for artisan businesses and would attract more local people and visitors in to Stafford.

“It is good to hear so many businesses are keen to showcase their work in the heart of Stafford and I hope people have already put the date in their diary for this great new initiative.

“And if you do want to take part and have a stand at the event then please get in touch quickly.”
