YOUNG British chocolatier Louis Barnett has been appointed as an ambassador for Taste of Staffordshire.

The county initiative is dedicated to raising and promoting the quality of Staffordshire’s restaurants, eating places, food and drink producers through the annual Good Food Awards and the Taste of Staffordshire Accreditation scheme.

Based in Kinver, Louis is a 20 year old entrepreneur, chocolatier and conservationist. He was taken out of mainstream education because of learning difficulties at the age of 11. His passion for chocolate started with cakes, when he was asked to made a chocolate cake for his auntie's birthday. By the age of 12 he was the UK’s youngest entrepreneur. Louis will join existing patron of Taste of Staffordshire and restaurateur Sarah Willingham.

He will represent the scheme for the first time at Keele University on March 24.
