Climate change responsible for Stafford flooding?

I AM sure that like myself many of your readers are horrified at the recent floods that are happening in many parts of the country and politicians are talking about taking steps to prevent such disasters occurring again.

It is puzzling, therefore, that very little mention is made of the effects of climate change on the extreme weather conditions that we have been experiencing in the past few years -not just in this country but all over the world. Environmental scientists have been warning us for years about the effects of climate change - floods, storms and unprecedented temperatures.

Yet our government is quite happy to promote processes such as fracking and methane gas extraction which can only add to the problem.

If steps are not taken now the weather we have been experiencing will continue and will probably become worse. Is this what we want for our children and grandchildren? I certainly don't.
