STAFFORDSHIRE’S chief fire officer will lead the way on shaping the future of the fire service after taking on a new role.
Peter Dartford has been appointed as vice president of the Chief Fire Officers Association (CFOA).
He will support Paul Fuller in his role as president during 2013-2014 before taking on the position himself next year.
As part of his role, Mr Dartford will influence key decisions and steer the association through challenging times.
CFOA is the professional voice of the UK fire and rescue service.
It supports members to fulfil their role in protecting local communities and making life safer through improved service delivery.
Mr Dartford, who has been in charge at Staffordshire since 2008, said: “I am very much looking forward to playing an increasingly influential role in the future of the UK Fire and Rescue Service, as I believe that what we have done and continue to do here in Staffordshire warrants replication across the country.”
