County Town is a laughing stock

IT’S years since the first slab fell from Scaffold place and I think it’s still missing.

Every day I drive past the building and see the metal guards around the base and the pieces still missing.

Does anyone care?

As a county town we are becoming a laughing stock. Is anyone chasing the builder and saying “get it fixed before the ram balls turn to ashes and Prince Rupert rides again”? We keep hearing: “it’s saving us money” and “the builder is footing the bill”.

Well it’s about time he footed the ladder while someone puts our slabs back.

Also still missing are the road workers filling in holes - the only roadway without holes is my own drive.

I even spotted a speed hump with holes - even the car parks have massive holes. Let’s face it the whole place is a mess and that was not meant as a pun.

In recent years this council has built a building that fails a riverside walk that floods, electric car chargers that take parking space up, bike lanes that go unused and hundreds of dismount, mount and bike signs. Along with turning our town to ruins, now our MP is buying a Rangers season ticket - maybe he feels a closure to add to the university, the hospital, and the youth centres.

What is he trying to do? There must be elections due.
