A CYCLIST is getting on his bike for a tough charity challenge pedalling from Stafford to London – and then to Paris.
Mick Rowley, 50, from Highfields, is taking part in the challenge to pull in pounds for Stafford’s Katharine House Hospice.
He is aiming for a fund-raising total of £2,500 on the 700-mile trip, which will see him going from Stafford to London, biking 100 miles around London and Surrey and then catching a ferry to France and cycling to the capital.
The challenge, set to depart in August, will take just under two weeks to complete.
He is no stranger to physical challenges, having cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats in 2012.
He said: “I wanted to do something special for the hospice as it celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. This seemed like the thing to do.
“I’ll be training hard over the next few months and will be aiming to raise as much as I can.”
