STAFFORD'S council boss said news the final report on the future of Stafford Hospital's services would be delayed, was justification of his 'serious concerns' over the 'flawed' administration process.
“This is exactly what our council warned in the letter we sent to the secretary of state, and in the response we made to the consultation," said Stafford Borough Council leader, Mike Heenan. "We said we had serious concerns about the process which in our opinion is flawed.
"The finances have not been bottomed and to go ahead with proposals when you have not properly assessed the financial burden is folly."
Councillor Heenan said the council had written to Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt, to put forward their concerns the process had not arrived at a resolved and sustainable financial basis for the future provisions of health services to the people of Stafford and surrounding area.
"In my opinion this latest decision to extend the time limit is justification of those concerns," he added.
