THE RSPCA is appealing for information after the body of dog that had been shot in the head was found dumped in Stone.
The male cream coloured male greyhound, found in Washdale, Old Road, Oulton Heath, was reported on September 10.
RSPCA inspector Laura Bryant, who has been tasked with dealing with the incident said: “The RSPCA was notified regarding this incident and on examination the dog does have a small hole in his head which indicates it is likely that he had been shot.
“There are no other obvious injuries to the dog," she said. "It is not known how long the body had been left at the location and we need to find out more about what happened here."
Ms Bryant appealed to anyone with any information regarding the incident or any related incidents to contact the RSPCA appeal line on 0300 123 8018. Calls will be treated in confidence.
