A STAFFORD pooch will show his pedigree on national television tomorrow (FRI) as part of a new competition.
Donald the Nova Scotia duck tolling retriever beat off competition from hundreds of dogs to make it through to the heats of Superstar Dogs along with 29 others for a series of canine capers.
The four-year-old working gun dog was put forward by Roz Hickman, co-ordinator with Stafford-based Pads dog training where he is part of the display team.
“They emailed me to see if we had a dog that could do all these different ecercises and Donald was the ideal choice because he swims well,” she said.
“He’s a working gun dog, he doesn’t do these sorts of things as a rule. He’s really pretty and a real cheeky chappie.”
“”He has been a show dog, he won best puppy in breed at Crufts.
Donald will be seen taking part in a variety of activities including swimming, ball retrieval and agility when the show airs on Channel 4 at 5.30pm tomorrow.
