Stafford Tyres just wanted to say a quick piece on the part worn dilema that is becoming more commonplace in the area.
Below is a couple of examples of the state of tyres being supplied by local part worn outlets.
In this picture there is not one but two unsafe repairs done to the same tyre in the same place, which is obviously dangerous and should never have been repaired in such a way.
We also have a pair of tyres that have been recut, which again is a very dangerous act, and something that hasn't been in practice for years.
Many tyres are more than ten years old or have had major repairs carried out badly by unqualified staff. It's worth mentioning too that in most cases the price of a part worn tyre is not far off the price of a brand new tyre.
We used to sell part worn tyres perhaps 20 years ago, but we would personally go and pick these tyres ourselves and test and repair as needed. However, it seems that times have changed and today's attitude is that as long as it will hold air then it's fair game for resale.
So please think on before your next purchase folks.
