DRIVERS are warned to watch out for fraudsters trying to flag them down and get them to hand over cash for goods.
Scammers will claim they are short of fuel, have no cash and have a family emergency to get the driver to part with money. They will often offer fake gold jewellery in exchange.
Scammers mainly operate near motorways and arterial routes. Police are urging anyone to report any suspicions, make a note of the registration number and description of the person.
