WORRIED Stafford residents fear their area is becoming a target for trouble and drugs.
Householders in Churchill Way, Burton Manor, say there have been countless problems in the area for years and it seems to be getting worse.
They say they have worked with police to try to put a stop to the problems but there is only so much police can do.
One householder said: “I have lived here for 20 years and probably for the past 10 there have been problems with drugs in and around the area.
“There have been numerous drug raids and community police officers try their best to deal with the problems but it’s difficult. Information has been passed to them but unless there is clear evidence at the time they are there they can’t do anything about it.”
Chief Inspector Jane Hewett, commander of Stafford Borough Local Policing Team, said: “We are aware of residents’ concerns regarding an address in Churchill Way.
"Together with our colleagues at Stafford and Rural Homes, and liaising directly with local residents them- selves, we are working to address those concerns.”
