ECCLESHALL CC firsts maintained top spot in the NSSCL division three with a resounding win over Fenton.
This latest triumph for the Church Street side included an unbeaten century for skipper Myles Coughlan.
Dave Hibbert (58) was solid and commanding at the top of the order as he and Coughlan shared in a 74-run partnership.
From then on, Coughlan dominated the proceedings, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes in his 100 not out that came up off just 89 balls.
This enabled Coughlan to declare on 229-7 and allow his side up to 62 overs to dismiss the opposition. Veteran swing bowler Eddie Plant toiled strongly for Fenton and finished with 6-72.
Fenton were under pressure from the start of their reply after Matt Buttery took two early wickets and reduced the visitors to 10-2.
Phil Hall offered some resistance with a knock of 34 but he was out to Jordan Wood with Fenton in toruble on 75-6.
Buttery picked up a third victim to finish with 3-20, but top bowling honours for Eccleshall went to spinner Wood who finished the innings off with 4-18.
Fenton were all out for 108, leaving Eccleshall victorious by 121 runs and they remain nine points clear of nearest rivals Woore. This Saturday, Eccleshall visit Hanford.
