ECCLESHALL were the only local Saturday side who beat the wet weather this week.

The North West Counties division one strugglers visited Cheadle Town (Stockport) and went down 3-1.

Thabiso Magida gave Cheadle a 34th minute advantage, before Craig Hulme levelled for the Eagles three minutes into the second half.

However, a 68th minute penalty, converted by Adam Oakes restored the Cheadle lead and Nathan Neeguaye wrapped up the win for the hosts in the 79th minute.

Matches involving Brocton, Stafford Town, Stone Old Alleynians and FC Stafford were all postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
