ECCLESHALL could not respond to three first half goals as they fell to a 3-1 defeat at home against Chadderton in the North West Counties League.
The visitors settled into their game quickly and went ahead after three minutes when a corner found Macauley Harewood who shot home.
Chadderton went two goals up on 26 minutes after a surging run by Dan Hudson, he then put a cross in the box and Clive Best applied the finishing touch into the top corner.
Despite several attempts on goal by Eccleshall it was the visitors who went further ahead on 39 minutes when Matt Russell's shot took a deflection past the despairing dive of Stuart Plant.
After the break, Eccleshall were desperate to get back into the game and upped their work rate but their attacks fell short of the mark.
This is the way the match stayed until towards the end when Plant was brought into action with a full length save from Josh Lynch. In time added on, Eccleshall did manage to find the net when Alex McMillan pulled a goal back but it was too little too late.
This Saturday, Eccleshall are away to Atherton Collieries in the North West Counties League with a 3pm kick off, Eccleshall AFC are also away in the Staffs County League at AFC Leek Town (2.30pm).
