ECCLESHALL slumped to their third defeat of the season after a poor first half show gave Northwich a confidence booster to gain their first points of the season.
Tom Laroso had the first real chance when he went close for Eccleshall, he pounced on a short back pass, then rounded Villa goalkeeper Andrew but his side footed shot from out wide rolled along the line with it begging to be touched in.
Dean Sibson’s side nearly gave a goal away when indecision in the defence lead to Dalrymple shot being saved by Dave Dyson at the second attempt.
Straight from the whistle in the second half Laroso burst through but his shot curled wide of Villa's post.
Dalrymple then had a shot which just cleared the cross bar with Dyson back pedalling. Northwich gaining in confidence, from Eccleshall's poor play, and a powerful shot from Jack Dickenson went just wide with Dyson beaten.
Eccleshall paid the price for some poor play after 64 minutes when Daniel Wright netted with a shot which flew across Dyson into the far corner.
The visitors came back with Kane Gerald heading a Thomas Swann cross over and then Alex McMilan had a shot easily saved by Andrew.
Dyson was called upon to dive full length as Scott Huxtable ran through, the Pershall Park men pushed for an equaliser in the dying moments but failed to finish.
Eccleshall AFC earned a point in their opening day Staffs County Senior League fixture with a 2-2 draw against Hilton Harriers with goals coming from Daniel Jones and Peter Williams.
On Saturday (August 31) in the NWCFL, Eccleshall are at home to AFC Darwen with a 3.00pm kick off and Eccleshall AFC are away to Audley with a 2.30pm kick off in the Staffs County Senior League.
