STAFFORD Rangers suffered only their second league defeat in ten games when going down 3-0 away to FC United of Manchester on Saturday.
Rangers were very much in the match at the break having tested home keeper James Spencer with efforts from Karl Ashton and Fabrice Kasiama.
However, FC United also went close when Adam Jones headed wide, before Boro keeper Danny Read thwarted United debutant Tom Greaves.
Only an excellent stop from Spencer denied Liam Walshe as Rangers looked to take an interval advantage.
An error by defender Ryan Brown led to FC United taking the lead on 51 minutes when Jerome Wright finally pounced after Rangers had cleared two efforts off the line.
The home side continued to press and Matt Wolfenden snapped up a second goal on 72 minutes.
Michael Carr struck the woodwork for Rangers, before Greaves put the issue beyond all doubt with a third goal for the home side.
The outcome saw Rangers slip three places to 12th in the Evo Stik table.
Next up for Rangers is a home league fixture against local rivals Rushall Olympic on Saturday (Jan 19) with a 3pm kick-off.
