FREE scoring FC Stafford moved into the top six of West Midlands Two with a comfortable 6-1 home win over Worcester Raiders.
Stafford faced a headwind in the first half and it was the visitors who took the initiative, pinning Stafford in their own half for long periods.
Good goalkeeping by Steve McCabe kept Worcester at bay in the opening stages and surprisingly it remained goalless, that was until the closing stages of the first half when Stafford netted twice.
Tom Jolley released Andy Willacy wide right whose cross was volleyed home from 18 yards by the impressive Matt Rhodes. Stafford then increased the lead through Martyn Wheeler to make it 2-0 at the break.
In the second half, Stafford upped their game, adding further goals through Tom Lane and a Rhodes penalty, after the busy Lane had been brought down in the area.
Lane went on to complete his hat-trick as Stafford made it six of the best and pushed their league goal tally this season to more than 50 goals in just 16 matches.
This Saturday, FC Stafford receive Sikh Hunters.
