Fatal Stafford crash - fresh appeal for witnesses

POLICE are making a fresh appeal for witnesses to a fatal road crash near Stafford.

The collision happened on the A518 at Billington Bank at around 1.10am on Sunday March 9 and involved a white Peugeot MPV taxi and a pedestrian.

Sadly the pedestrian, 34-year-old Olegs Sulaimonovs, died at the scene.

The taxi driver, a 53-year-old man, was uninjured.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who travelled along the A518 from Haughton to Stafford in the early hours of the Sunday morning and saw any pedestrians in the area at that time, or were travelling behind the white Peugeot MPV taxi.

Witnesses are asked to contact PC Brian Lovatt at Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 53 of March 9.
