LOCAL companies are being encouraged to demonstrate the county’s reputation as a hot-spot of business innovation and enterprise.

Sara Williams, the chief executive of Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, is urging businesses to get involved in this year’s Chamber Awards.

“We have exceptionally strong businesses in Staffordshire, and we urge our members to get involved and put themselves forwards for consideration,” she said.

The 11th awards ceremony will involve companies from across the UK, showcasing their talents and achievements through a series of regional heats.

The whole process will culminate in a national final in London in November.

The categories include: people development; manufacturing; sustainability; international business; innovation; technology; young people; and entrepreneurship.

“I get to hear truly inspirational stories from dynamic companies about how they are making a positive contribution to Staffordshire. The annual awards celebrate these success stories, and provide an opportunity for our local businesses to showcase their achievements on a national platform.”
