A FATHER-OF-TWO was found dead in his home in Stafford as shocked residents watched the drama unfold.
The body of Jason Mustin, 41, was found in a house in Churchill Way at around 11.50am on Saturday.
Residents looked on as the property was cordoned off by police on Saturday and forensic investigations began.
Rumours circulating on social network sites claimed that there had been a shooting but Staffordshire Police dismissed the suggestions.
A police spokesman said the death was being treated as unexplainedanda report would be prepared for the coroner.
The family had been made aware of the death.
This week there were a number of floral tributes outside the house.
One nearby householder said: “It is a real shame. I knew Jason and he was always polite and said hello.
"He was pleasant and quietly spoken, the kind of person who would do anything for anyone.
“I think he had had his problems.
"He had been married and his two daughters no longer lived with him.
“I think he had been trying to turn his life around.”
Another resident said: “We heard shouting and banging.
"Someone was shouting ‘wake up’.
"The paramedics were here quickly.
"But it was very scary, especially with the police in their white forensics suits.”
