A DOXEY church is planning to give food packages out to random people in Stafford town centre.

It’s not the first time The Renewal Fellowship in Doxey Road has given food away.

Last year they went to random houses delivering packages of food.

People in the town centre around 6.30pm on Wednesday (5) could find themselves being given non perishable food items including pasta, biscuits and tea.

“It’s quite quirky, people are surprised,” said Pastor Donovan Haslam.

“We just wanted to let people know to look out for us. We will be accosting random people in Stafford saying have this on us.”

The church has quadrupled its membership from 10 to 40 since Mr Haslam joined last year.

The food drop will be the first of four community ventures this year, with a food bank planned for later in the year based at the church.
