VILLAGERS who want to have a say on the future of Gnosall swimming pool are being urged to attend a public meeting at the Grosvenor Centre this week.

Staffordshire County Councillor for Gnosall and Stafford Borough Councillor for Seighford Mark Winnington, who has organised the meeting hopes it will build on the work of the previous public meeting about the future of the pool, at which more than 70 people turned out to express their desire to see the pool continue to operate.

Councillor Winnington told the Newsletter he wanted to bring those people - and any others interested in the pool’s future – together to contribute to a ‘feasibility study’ for the pool, looking first at consulting the local community to make sure any plans captured as many people’s views as possible.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 9 at 6:15pm and anyone who wishes to attend is asked to contact Community Partnership Officer, Sarah Garner, on 07807 137125 or by emailing sarah.garner@staffordshire.gov.uk.

The pool came under threat when it emerged, plans to rebuild Gnosall St Lawrence CE Primary School and replace it with a new multi-million pound building did not include rebuilding the pool after the current site is bulldozed.
