ST LAWRENCE CHURCH NEWS: Every Thursday there will be a short communion service at 9.15am, the Play and Praise group for pre-school children meets at 2.15pm and there is choir practise at 6.40pm.

MILITARY WHIST: On Wednesday there will be military whist at 7.30pm at the Grosvenor Centre.

ST EDITHA'S CHURCH: The twenty is plenty service for children and their parents is on Tuesday at 3.30pm.

INSTITUTE: Zumba continues on Tuesday at 6pm and the Church Eaton and District Dog Society has its weekly training class at 7pm on Wednesday. To hire the hall contact Jenny on 824882

SCHOOL: The following children gained last week’s award for perseverance: Lucy Neish and Libby Price (Class 1); Ella Terry and Jack Pendleton (Class 2) and Stacey Nicholas and Maria Bellamy (Class 3).

VILLAGE CHOIR: There is a practice in the church at 8pm on Wednesday. New members always welcome – contact Daphne on 823958.

STEAM TRAIN: Last week saw the launch of villager Michael Faarup's steam train called Dorada at Weston Park Railway.

Michael's train will be running regularly throughout the summer in the beautiful grounds of Weston Park which has one of Britain's finest and longest miniature railways.
