ST LAWRENCE CHURCH NEWS: This Sunday there will be a 7.45am Holy Communion service with a family Communion service at 10.30am. At 12.15pm there will be a baptismal service and at 6.30pm there will be a memorial service.

METHODIST NEWS: This Sunday’s service will be at 10.30am led by Howard with crèche facilities.

PHOENIX CLUB: On Monday there will be crown green bowling at Newport from 10am until 12 noon and table tennis in the Brearley Room from 2 until 4.30pm. On Wednesday the Book Reading group meets in the Brearley Room from 10am until 12 noon.

MILITARY WHIST: On Wednesday there will be military whist at 7.30pm at the Grosvenor Centre.

U3A: The June event will take place at the Royal British Legion club on Audley road Newport on Tuesday at 2pm, entrance is £1. There will be a talk by Alan Rawlings entitled “codpieces and bum rolls”, for more info contact John Waite on 01952 820376.

FIRST RESPONDERS AGM: The community first responders will hold their tenth AGM on Wednesday in the community room at the fire station at 7.30pm., everyone is welcome.

MEMORIAL HALL VILLAGE COMMITTEE: There will a 10 minute open public forum prior to the start of Tuesday’s meeting at 7.30pm in the village hall.


ST EDITHA'S CHURCH: Sunday is Trinity Sunday and there is holy communion at 8am with the rector and a confirmation service at 4pm with Bishop Geoff. The twenty is plenty service for children and their parents is on Tuesday at 3.30pm.

CHURCH and VILLAGE: Saturday is the deadline for contributions to the July/August double edition of the parish magazine. The new address is submission@ourparishmag.org

INSTITUTE: Zumba continues on Tuesday at 6pm. The Church Eaton and District Dog Society has its weekly training class at 7pm on Wednesday.

SCHOOL: The following pupils currently have 100% attendance for this academic year: James Whitehouse; Isla Whittick; Lily Allen; Connor Fletcher; Jack Harris; Josie Stockhall; Charlotte Waine; Richard Hanley-Walsh and Owen Rogers.

Full bags for the Bags2school collection should be left in the car park by 9am on Thursday 19th June.

BELL RINGING and CHOIR: Bell ringing is on Wednesday at 7pm followed by choir practice at 8pm in the church.

COFFEE MORNING: There is a coffee morning with a sale of plants in the institute today 10.30am until 12.30pm. The next coffee morning is 10th July.

OPEN GARDENS: At least five gardens in Church Eaton will be open to the public on Sunday 22nd June. These include the extensive and rarely opened garden of Little Onn Hall and the attractive NGS garden at Willow Cottage.

Costs for entry to all the gardens will be £4 with the proceeds going to St Editha’s church and the village institute.
