FLY fishermen enjoyed a good weekend at Seighford Lakes this week.
Sunday fished just as well as Saturday, although the rod average was not quite as high.
Everyone caught on the two days and all anglers landed at least three fish. Even a first timer managed four fish off the Swan Neck Pool.
Top rod was John Whyte who has returned 46 fish over the weekend, landing fish up to 9lb 2oz.
Other top bags included Tony Whalley who managed 16 fish on Sunday, with all fish caught on buzzers.
Pete Roberts had a fantastic four hours of fishing. He landed 15 fish, while Chris Ector banked 13tTrout over both lakes, on Leeches, landing one fish of 5lb 4oz and a 7lb 10oz.
The good news saw a rod average of 15.5 on Saturday. "I don't think the sport down here at Seighford Lakes has ever been so good," said owner Phil Dixon.
Chris and Lynda Ector could not go wrong again landing 37 fish between them. They switched methods, from pulling Leeches back to tickling small wet flies, both approaches rewarding them with fish. Lynda landed a fish around the 8lb mark.
Fish of the week was landed by Tim Jones. He not only doubled his personal best but he also landed a record amount of fish for himself, banking 26 fish on Friday including an incredible 16lb 7oz rainbow trout.
