WHAT a superb match last weekend at Marston Road against FC United of Manchester, writes Stafford Rangers commercial manager Stuart Maun.
A great atmosphere, a great crowd (without segregation), a very pleasant Autumn day, a superb performance from the lads and above all a fantastic win against one of the stronger sides in the league.
It was great to be on the right side of a last minute goal that took all the points from the game.
I thought the lads played well especially Darren Bullock, Lucan Spittle, whose partnership seems to be coming together nicely, and Jon Brain,
The match-day team also worked extremely hard and I would like to thank everyone that assisted in whatever capacity on the day.
For the fear of missing someone out, I will not list everyone but you know who you are and thanks.
day who are one of our nominated charities for the season. They managed to raise in excess of £200 and I know that all money raised has been greatly received by the Headway team.
This weekend will be a bit strange for me as for the first time in many seasons I’m having to miss a home game due to attending a friend’s wedding in Leicestershire.
Who gets married on a Saturday in football season? The answer is someone who does not follow football.
I shall be watching the match updates closely though throughout the afternoon and mid-wedding speeches.
It would be great if we could continue the FA Cup run, although we know it will not be an easy tie, however if the lads play like last weekend and the fans’ support is the same then who knows?
The Cup produces some strange results and Boston will naturally be aware of that.
I hope that everyone who is attending
the Xander Brothers event in the Social Club tomorrow evening has a great time.
Thanks again to Martyn Heath for arranging this, it should be another great night, keeping Tony and his team busy behind the bar.
Remember, as we say many times, the Social Club plays a huge part in the success of the football club, with about 70 per cent of the total football club revenue coming from the takings there.
So don’t forget if you have a special event coming up, or need a place to hold a business meeting, or just fancy a drink pre/post match, then think of the club. Every penny helps!
Thanks to those people recently that have been commenting on my articles in here too. It’s nice to know that people are actually reading the update from the club and if there is anything specific you would like me to update you on, then please do let me know.
Thanks for reading, get behind the lads this weekend. Up the Boro!
