HS2

Do you think the benefits of HS2 will outweigh the damage to Staffordshire's wildlife?

This week we reported that Staffordshire Wildlife Trust are urging for donations to raise the £17,500 needed to protect the wildlife which will be damaged by the new HS2 plans.

The plans have caused much controversy, largely from those living in the affected surrounding areas in Stafford, Lichfield and Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Concerns about the damaging effects the plans will have on the local wildlife sites have prompted a campaign from the Staffordshire Wildlife Trust in order to try to curb the damage.

However, supporters of HS2 are hopeful about the boost that the routes through Staffordshire will bring to the local economy and the ease for commuters in the area.
