MEMBERS of Stafford Harriers have been finalising their preparations for this year’s Stafford half marathon on Sunday, March 17.
Last Sunday, many club newcomers made up the majority of the 69 runners who tackled the entire Stafford course as a training run and rehearsal for the big day.
Over the past few months the club’s coaches have put running beginners through their paces, all aimed at completing next month’s race.
Runners were supported by other club members who provided outrider support and water stations.
“The newcomers, of all ages, did fantastically well and all completed the course, while giving mutual support. They now have the confidence for the event,” said club press officer Bill Whitworth.
Entries for the half marathon have closed at its 2,500 capacity, but are still being accepted for the School and Family fun run on the same day. See the Stafford Borough Council website for more details.
