WITH a welcome break from the wet and windy weather and the prospect of an almost spring-like morning, Stafford Harriers took in the Alsager five mile race on Sunday.
This was the first of the North Staffs Road Runners Association races for 2014 and the event was won by Tom Farrell of Border Harriers in 24:06. The first Harrier, James Skelton, was 40th in 27.25.
Helen Clitheroe of Preston Harriers was the leading female runner with a time of 26:51 well ahead of Stafford Harriers leading lady Christine Skellern who clocked 35:15.
