After Kate Middleton turned 30 in January, we reveal 10 ways you can dazzle like a duchess...
1. Give your hair some TLC. Kate’s hair is her crowning glory – long, thick and glossy, it is always in amazing condition. For equally luscious locks, give your hair a pick-me-up with one of our favourite intensive conditioners.
2. Cake on the eyeliner. The Middleton sisters have been criticised in the past for overdoing it on the eyeliner, but who doesn’t love a bit of the black stuff? To match Kate’s look simply line your inner lids with a black liner like Kohl Eyeliner the from GOSH and then apply a few coats of good quality mascara on your top and bottom lashes.
3. Get a professional blow dry. No matter how hard we try, achieving Kate’s big, bouncy signature style is proving impossible (round hairbrushes are evil!) Maybe it’s best to leave it to the professionals, book yourself into a salon for a drama-free Middleton mane.
4. Don’t overdo the fake tan. Kate has naturally flawless skin (is there anything this girl doesn’t have?!) so a tinted moisturiser and a touch of bronzer is all that’s needed. Plus we don’t think Queenie would be too happy if she channelled her inner TOWIE girl.
5. Stay healthy. At a statuesque 5”10 and a tiny size eight, Kate has the kind of figure that top models would dream of. Unfortunately, for us mere mortals a Kate Middleton body is probably unobtainable, but lots of Pilates, good genes and a healthy diet will put you on the right path. Check out our fitness and sport section for lots of great advice about keeping in shape.
6. Beautiful brows. Kate’s brows are groomed to perfection, with not one unruly hair out of place. Try spritzing some hairspray to a brush and then combing through the brows to set them in place.
7. Colour me beautiful. Kate relies on Richard Ward to keep her rich chestnut colour in check, try his range of home products if a celebrity stylist falls just out of your price range!
8. A perfect princess pout. Not one for brightly coloured lipstick, Kate prefers to keep it simple when it comes to her lips. First prime your lips with a balm, add definition with a pale pink liner and finish off with a coral lipstick like Coral sun by Yves Saint Laurent.
9. Play it safe. The Duchess of Cambridge and future Queen of England is unlikely to be channelling her inner Lady GaGa anytime soon (apparently the Queen isn’t even a fan of skinny jeans!) keep your look classy, sophisticated and chic for oodles of royal style.
10. And finally, resist the charms of your other half’s cheeky younger brother, or at least keep it on the sly.
