Six Simple Tips for the Perfect Shave in 2012

Men of Staffordshire, listen up! Here are some simple but effective tips expertly advised by The Shavedoctor himself, Mark Sproston.

1. If you suffer with razor rash especially around the neck, try using shave oil and a shave crème within your shave routine. You will find the oil will aid the razor to glide which will help protect your skin against the razor blades and the shave crème helps to keep the skin moisturised and supple during and after the shave. Yes, we hear some of you say “we have tried using shaving oil in the past but it clogs our razor!” but not the Shavedoctor shave oil, try it and you'll be amazed.

2. If you suffer with ingrown hairs use the Shavedoctor Facial Scrub daily to help release the trapped hair follicle, gently massage the affected area with the facial scrub using your fingers (don’t squeeze) and never attempt to squeeze or extract an ingrown hair using tweezers or any other method.

3. Most men will tend to shave at 100mph so try and slow the strokes down and take more care when shaving your delicate face as you only have one face to protect!

4. If you are a creature of habit and leave shaving until the very last minute before you head off for work in the mornings then why not try shaving at night instead!  *89% of men who trialled this night shave agreed that by shaving either in the bath or just after a shower helped them achieve a more comfortable and closer shave as it was not rushed. *229 men trialled.

5. During the cold winter months even if you are not a regular shaver remember to moisturise. Try applying Shavedoctor Moisturazor as this will keep the skin supple, essential for achieving a more comfortable shave.

6. 40% of men who apply a moisturising product after a shave will normally do so after splashing their face with cold water...exactly what you should do but because you have closed the skins pores the product will only lie on the surface of the skin which will have no effect at all. So ensure that you splash your face with hot or warm water after the cold water splash as this will re open the pores allowing the moisturising product to feed the skin more deeply.
