VOLUNTEERS are being sought to cover up a recently unearthed World War One battlefield model on Cannock Chase.
Archaeologists and volunteers excavated the Messines Model near Brocton Coppice last month.
The accurate scale model was created in 1918 as an instructional tool for the New Zealand Rifle Brigade, who were based on Cannock Chase at the time.
If left exposed to the elements the model would disintegrate.
Anyone who can assist the volunteers, who are onsite each morning, would be welcomed. For more information contact John on 07836 699827.
