Bulls claim comfortable Robins victory
Adrian Purtell celebrated his much-publicised comeback by helping injury-stretched Bradford extend their unbeaten run to three games as they recorded a 34-12 victory over Hull KR.
Purtell had not played since suffering a heart attack on the way home from the Magic Weekend defeat to Leeds last May but, having been given the all-clear by specialists during the week, the 28-year-old Australian came off bench to rapturous applause after 24 minutes.
At that stage the Bulls had already crossed twice through Jamie Foster and Brett Kearney to hold a narrow lead and went on to add three more first-half tries - from Elliot Kear, John Bateman and Jarrod Sammut, who also added a second after the break - and Foster adding the extras as error-strewn Rovers struggled to get into the game.
The Robins hit back when David Hodgson, making his 350th career appearance latched onto a long Greg Eden pass to score his 158th Super League try.
Josh Hodgson also crossed over for the away side at the start of the second half as Michael Dobson added the extras.
London Broncos produced an impressive second-half show in difficult conditions to climb off the bottom of the table with their second successive away win - a 26-12 victory at Castleford Tigers.
Trailing 12-6 at half-time, they stunned Castleford with three converted tries in a blistering eight-minute spell early in the second period. Chris Bailey bagged two tries and Michael Witt landed five goals from five kicks as the Broncos clambered above fellow strugglers Castleford.
Michael Robertson and Craig Gower also crossed over for the away side.
Castleford went ahead in the 13th minute when Jamie Ellis made an opening for Jordan Tansey whose inch-perfect kick to the corner saw winger Kirk Dixon grab a try that Ellis converted from the touchline.
Craig Huby shrugged aside two would-be tacklers to force his way over and Ellis converted to put the home side 12-6 up at the break before the Broncos struck back.
