Daley set for celebrity diving show
Olympic medallist Tom Daley is diving into primetime TV with a new show.
Splash! will see celebrities competing against each other as they try to master the art of diving with the help of a team of professional coaches.
They will have to show off their new skills in front of a panel of judges and a live audience at a packed Olympic-size swimming pool before the public get their chance to vote for their favourite.
Daley, who won bronze in the 10-metre individual men's platform diving at the summer Games, said: "2012 has been a wonderful year for me - an Olympic medal and double gold at the Junior World Champs. What better way to round it off by becoming involved in this great new show; a dream come true for me - an entertainment show all about diving. I'll be helping the celebrities as they master a dangerous and exciting sport and I can't wait to get started."
The idea is based on a hit Dutch show called Celebrity Splash!
ITV's director of entertainment and comedy Elaine Bedell said the show promised "thrills, spills and a touch of comedy as famous faces take to the celebrity diving board".
