HUNDREDS of amateur cyclists will head out into the Staffordshire Moorlands in the Tour Ride Stoke-on-Trent event on Sunday (September 3).
Cyclists will compete over two distances the 50-mile challenge route for beginners and the Tour of Britain inspired 100-mile route which both start and finishing from Trentham Gardens.
Riders will start from 8.00am for the Pro100 Route which will skirt around Stafford taking in Stone, Hixon and Little Haywood before heading back north through Abbots Bromley and then into the Stafforshire Moorlands before heading back to Trentham.
The Challenge 50 Route riders will start from 10.00am and will head out through Barlaston taking in a smaller loop of the Moorlands before heading back to Trentham.
Professional British cycling team UK Youth will be sending duo Rob Partridge and Ian Wilkinson to help raise funds and awareness for UK Youth who are Britain’s leading youth charity.
Partridge said: “I'm very much looking forward to the Stoke Tour Ride, I'll be riding the Pro100 route, which features some great, challenging roads.
“Last time I rode this route was during 2011 Tour of Britain stage, which ended up being a very decisive one, so I'll be looking forward to another tough day again!”
