More than 600 people have signed a petition opposing the closure and demolition of the Rickerscote Arms.

Campaigners are meeting tonight at the pub at 7.30pm with local councillor Ralph Cooke and prospective Parliamentary candidate Kate Godfrey.

They are also pulling in pounds for a fighting fund with a live music night on June 28.

Local bands Junction 16, The Skunks, Step on a Crack and Anchor Down will be performing from 7pm and there will also be a raffle, with a top prize of a VIP weekend trip to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
